Who Is Jerry Martin & Associates?
From his days as a midshipman at the U.S.
Naval Academy, through a successful career as a bank President/CEO, Jerry
Martin has served his communities with pride and dignity. He has been an
industry leader throughout his various business ventures, and continues to 'set
the standard' with his entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to
succeed.
As President and Chief Executive Officer of
Los Angeles Bancorp, a California Corporation, Jerry was instrumental in the
formation and subsequent accomplishments of the corporation's subsidiary,
Century Thrift & Loan. Noteworthy achievements during his eighteen years in
the banking industry include being the youngest bank President in the State of
California of a non-minority owned institution, as well as serving on the Board
of Directors' executive committee for the California Thrift and Loan
Association.
Upon relocation to the Pacific Northwest, he
decided to "become his own boss", and fulfilled one of his childhood
dreams
that of owning a community tavern/sports pub where friends could
meet and have a great time together. As owner/operator of Daman's Tavern, in
Redmond, WA, he carried on the traditional motto of the original owner
"Great Food, Great Service, Great Tavern." His efforts were rewarded by being
featured in various news articles, being touted as the 'CHEERS' of the
Eastside. Daman's was also recognized by Eastside Magazine as the voter's
choice for Sports Bar of the Year!
Currently, Jerry is a licensed real estate
agent and is actively involved in listing and selling properties in the Puget
Sound area. As a broker and manager for RE/MAX Northwest Realtors, he is looked
to as a leader among his colleagues. Jerry also serves as the Director of
Corporate Development and as a Corporate Officer for the company. But his
people skills and business savvy are well recognized outside the corporate
environment. The Snohomish-Camano Realtor® Association has designated Jerry
as its V.P. of Communications and Public Relations.

Despite the breadth of Jerry's
accomplishments, he would say that his greatest achievements are his satisfied
clients. But the term 'satisfied' does not seem like an adequate description.
The people Jerry has worked for look at him not only as their real estate agent
for life, but also as a friend. Some have commented that when they speak to
Jerry, no matter what the circumstances or how busy he is, he makes them feel
like they are always most important. There is a very good reason for this. To
Jerry, they truly are!
Some people perceive the real estate
industry as one full of phony sales people and fake smiles. Let Jerry show you
how "personable and genuine" a real estate professional can be

Working With An Agent >Skillful Negotiations
Negotiating the sale or purchase of a home is a highly creative endeavor that can be stressful at times. Even though the process is not usually an adversarial one, there are issues which may require a compromise from each party, such as the price, the date of possession, and the condition of the property at closing.
It helps to know why people are relocating. If a home is part of an estate, for example, it may evoke childhood memories and intense emotions for the person who is overseeing the sale. If the sellers are in the middle of a divorce, their mood will be different than someone who has just won the lottery and is moving to their dream home. Buyers who have been transferred and have to leave their dream home behind will feel differently from someone who feels that your home is their "ideal". One of a real estate agent's most important jobs is managing all of the relationships in the transaction. These situations don't often get really difficult, but when they do, agent's don't take it personally.
