Things To Do In Seattle, Redmond and Bellevue!

Entertainment and the arts are major contributors to Seattle?s high quality of life. Outside of New York, we boast more equity theaters?those using union actors?than any other city in the United States. Our vibrant music scene has also helped put us on the map. This is in addition to resident symphony, ballet and opera companies, museums, fringe theaters and more. For those more interested in lam dunks than Swan Lake, Seattle is also home to a wealth of sports attractions, including professional football, baseball, soccer, hockey and basketball teams.

Without a doubt, one of the best things about the Puget Sound region is its proximity to a seemingly infinite number of outdoor recreational activities. Downhill and cross-country skiing, fishing, hiking and mountain climbing are all within one or two hours of downtown Seattle and you can go biking or boating without even leaving the city. You?d be hard-pressed to find another thriving metropolitan area that doubles as a gateway to the outdoors the way Seattle does. And while it does rain from time to time around here, the upside of our mild climate is that you can enjoy our region?s recreational opportunities throughout the year.

While Seattle is a great city with plenty of neighborhoods and attraction to explore, it?s really worth taking trips out of the city every so often to get an idea of everything else the Northwest has to offer. Sweeping coastlines, soggy rain forests and active volcanoes are all easily accessible from the city. A three-hour drive south on the interstate gets you to Oregon, while a two-hour jaunt to the north puts you in an entirely different country. So make a point of getting out and discovering for yourself the incredible destinations within this region.

And finally, for the food lovers, Seattle is a great place to eat out. What does it take to cook up a first-rate restaurant town? Start with a bounty of fresh local ingredients. Add a handful of adventurous, talented chefs. Combine these with a booming economy and?voilá!?you have the recipe for Seattle?s dining scene. Not only does our city offer an expansive menu of dining options, the Puget Sound area also tickles taste buds with locally produced microbrews and internationally acclaimed wines. So if you?re hungry?or thirsty?there isn?t a much better place to be.

I recommend visiting Seattle CitySearch for more specific information on local attractions, activities, and restaurants.

Real Estate Tips
Buyers Remorse >First Time Buyers

People who are selling their homes should know something about the market group from which their buyers are likely to appear. Many homes are perfect for a first-time buyer. First-time buyers are making a major purchase they have never attempted before, and may be unusually subject to the inevitable stress and anxiety that goes with buying a home.

First-time home buyers are usually younger (between 25 and 34 years of age) and have distinct buying patterns. First-timers are often looking for homes that are smaller, and perhaps older, than repeat buyers. The median home size for first-time buyers is about 1450 square feet. Approximately four in ten first-timers will buy homes built before 1960, compared to two in ten repeat buyers.

First-time buyers are in the process of developing a clearly defined sense of what they want in a house. They may not have enough money to buy their ultimate dream home at first, but seventy-four percent say they like their new home better than their previous residence.
